Videos

AAU Football has proven to be the gold standard in class, integrity and competition in the New York Metropolitan Area.

With organizations spanning the AAU New York Metropolitan District, AAU Football is continuing to grow. As the only licensed Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) league for the New York Metropolitan district, AAU  Football has solidified itself as the most elite youth football league in the area. Our age divisions are 6 & Under, 8 & Under, 10 & Under, 12 & Under, 14 & Under. Our age divisions are governed by a birthdate deadine of August 1st. We play National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) rules. That means real football rules, all the time. All age divisions, with the exception of the 6 & Under division, are eligible to qualify for the AAU League-based National Championships.

AAU is recognized as excellence in a multitude of youth sports and tackle football is no exception. We are dedicated to excellence and our clubs can now enjoy the prestige of being member clubs of the AAU and competing in our exclusive AAU Youth Football league, complete with league-based National Championship tournaments annually in Florida during the month of December.

After the Amateur Sports Act of 1978, the AAU has focused its efforts into providing sports programs for all participants of all ages beginning at the grass roots level. The philosophy of "Sports for All, Forever," is shared by over 670,000 participants and over 100,000 volunteers.

In the 12U championship, the Long Island Spartans faced the Elmont Panthers. The teams battled with both teams having some big plays in the first half, but in the second half the Spartans pulled away and came out the AAU Football NY Metro District Champions winning by a score of 22-8 over Elmont. The Spartans quarterback play made the difference in this game.

Each team in every age division of the AAU Football New York Metropolitan District was separated by only one game this season in the standings. Now that's comepetitive youth football.

The 14U division was one of the most exciting games of the night as the Valley Stream Green Hornets and the Hudson County Dolphins faced off. These teams truly put on a show under the lights of Mitchell Field.

Valley Stream went up early, only to see Hudson County tie it up. The Valley Stream backfield appeared to run at will on the Hudson County defense until the second half. The Hudson County defense made stops and came alive in the 4th quarter making it a 4-point game. Trailing by 4 with just seconds to go, Hudson County completed a pass down to the 3 yard line, as the receiver attempted to make a move and slipped to the ground. Time expired and the Valley Stream Green Hornets brought home the AAU Football NY Metro District Championship.
